In a definitely idyllic position, far from any noise, and surrounded by the pastures and woods of Gubbio, you will find our completely renovated old farmhouse of typical Umbrian style, built out of natural stone. An ideal hideaway for a romantic weekend in the open countryside as well as for a truely relaxing vacation.

The huge sculptured fireplace in the living room, accurately chosen furniture and carpets, as well as the wood stove in the open kitchen, and a cast iron stove in the Dining room, contribute to the fascinating atmosphere of the house.

The B&B Ancient Oak tree, which earned its name from the century old tree which grows right next to the house itself providing shadow and protection, is a very small and intimate structure: it only offers two guest-rooms (both with internal private bathroom) and can host a maximum of 5 persons (also see: Philosophy of the house).

In summertime, the thick stonewalls guarantee a comfortable and healthy freshness in the house, with no need for air-conditioning. In wintertime, the floor-heating allover the house, the huge fireplace, the towel-warmers in the bathrooms, and the soft duvets guarantee maximum comfort to our guests.

During summer, breakfast is served on the terrace, in front of a breathtaking view. In wintertime, the breakfast-table is prepared right in front of the wood-stove in the kitchen; the heat of the burning fire and the view of the hills always grant you a pleasant wake-up.
